Did You Know?
St. Joseph's Summer Blood Drive hosted by our Council was held on Monday, July 11th. We had 77 registered donors show up with 11 deferreals. Whole Blood donations totaled 58 pints while there were 8 Automated Red Cell donations (Alyx) , bringing our total unit count to 74. (Alyx donations are credited as 2 units and add approximately 30 minutes to the donation time) Thanks to all who came. The winter Blood Drive is tentatively scheduled for December 26th and if all goes well we will bring back the meatball hero's.
Our old Pastor, Msgr. Rick has transferred his membership in the Knights of Columbus to our own St. Joseph the Carpenter Council. He has been a Knight over twenty years longer than me even though I'm almost ten years older than he is. Which just proves you're never too young or too old to become a Knight. And just to underline that fact, Joe Miller who has been a Knight longer than Msgr. Rick and me combined is now a 4th Degree Knight. Congratulations Sir Knight Joseph Miller!
Our Council currently has two members who are District Deputies in Suffolk County.
Congratulations Bill Jimenez and Matt Cola!!
Be well, stay safe and pray for our parish and all its parishoners.
In the words of that great comedian Red Skelton, "Good Night, and God Bless".
