About St. Joseph Cemetery
We are blessed here at the Parish of St. Joseph to have our own cemetery to serve our Catholic community. Our cemetery was established in the 1880s, when Edward and Bridget Cooley of Babylon transferred ownership to the Trustees of St. Joseph Church. We were sold almost 5 acres of property at the cost of $1.00 for the purpose of a cemetery. As members of our Parish family, we would like to offer you the opportunity to purchase the Rights for Burial and Perpetual Care in St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery. Our fees are reasonable and in keeping with our Parish Mission Statement: "We Welcome! We Worship! We Witness!"
Our cemetery has become a sacred place to pray and reflect, a place that holds our treasured memories of the past and allows us to grieve our loss in our own way and in our own time. Our cemetery is holy ground that nourishes and strengthens us to carry on and continues to be a place of healing and serenity for our parish families.
St. Joseph Cemetery is located in a residential neighborhood in Babylon Village off Old Farmingdale Road and the Sunrise Highway South Service Road. Adjacent to North Babylon Cemetery, it can be accessed by either road. The cemetery is open from morning to dusk. Cemetery regulations are posted at the entrance on Old Farmingdale Road.
Cemetery Office General Information
The Parish Cemetery office is located at St. Joseph’s Parish Center, at 39 North Carll Avenue, Babylon, just south of the Church.

Friends of St. Joseph Parish Cemetery
Volunteers are needed to preserve the beauty and sanctity of our Cemetery. No heavy lifting or manual work is necessary. Instead, they will be entrusted with straightforward, manageable tasks.
